Hooray! Galentine's Day is Almost Here!

It’s nearly the end of January, and that means Valentine’s day is fast approaching! It’s crazy, because it feels like just yesterday it was Christmas! Where does the time go? Needless to say, I love partying, and any excuse to throw down is alright with me! Since, at Christmas, we already celebrated with family, I have decided to focus on Galentine’s Day instead of Valentine’s Day, a fairly new concept devoted entirely to your best girlfriends. Especially with the joy of seeing so many women stand together for the Women’s March on Washington and all across the country, I want to talk about celebrating sisterhood and the love we each have for our girl squad!

Think of those ladies who have dried your tears over the years, who you marathon netflix shows with, and who fill your glass in more ways than one. It’s time to call them up and invite them over for an evening of fun!

Here are some of my favorite Galentine’s Day ideas:

Room Swag!

Create a comfy space where you and your girls can relax. Paint your nails. Take a cheesy Cosmo quiz. Catch up on celebrity gossip. Eat some snacks and drink some bubbly! Party pretty to your hearts' content! Check out the full shoot where we found this gem of inspiration here.

DIY Decor!

Crafting is one of my favorite pastimes. You can use your crafting skills to make these easy and sweet paper hearts to jazz up your room or tablescape! Make your Galentine's Day gathering as grand or intimate as you wish with even more ideas you can find here.

Photo Ops!

How stunning is this giant balloon heart? In this day of Insta-gratification, if you can recreate this photo op (don't worry, we have the tutorial here), you will make beautiful memories to look back on for all the Valentine's Days to come! I suggest that if you don't feel 100% motivated to suspend the balloon heart from your ceiling, you can always use duck tape to secure it to a wall... it will still be amazing!

Sweets and Treats!

Calories don't count on nights like these, and everyone loves cookie cakes! Find the recipe here, and make sure you get some milk (or champagne!) to wash it down.

Chocolate-dipped strawberries are another yummy way to celebrate Galentine's Day! See how to make these beauties here-- you will be amazed at how easy it is to make them... and easier still to eat them!

Wherever these ideas take you, make sure that you find some time next month to have fun with your ladies, your gentleman, or the people you love, in general!

xo,

the sparkler
